What is fatigue?

Studies associate fatigue with tiredness, lack of energy, exhaustion, and a decrease in physical and mental performance.

What is the relationship between viruses and fatigue?

One of the most important causes of fatigue is an infection with a latent (hidden) virus, specifically, the Cytomegalovirus (CMV), the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), the herpes simplex virus (HSV), and others.  These viruses use resources found in the cell they infect to multiply.  The result is a decrease in the energy available to the infected individual, and fatigue. 

What is the relationship between the immune system and fatigue?

When the immune system is weak, the number of latent viruses goes up, and the energy available to the infected individual goes down.

What can damage the immune system?

Various diseases (e.g., anemia, multiple sclerosis), psychiatric disorders, stress, aging, and certain drugs (e.g., blood pressure-lowering agents, lipid-lowering agents, beta-adrenergic blockers) can decrease the efficiency of the immune system.

Can antiviral treatments help against fatigue?

The following paper reports the results of a clinical study that tested the antiviral Gene-Eden-VIR/Novirin as a treatment against fatigue. The Gene-Eden-VIR/Novirin formula was developed to target latent (hidden) viruses, including the HSV, HPV, CMV, EBV and HCV.

Gene-Eden-VIR and Novirin are patented oral treatments. Each capsule consists of five natural ingredients: 100 mg of quercetin, 150 mg of a green tea extract, 50 mg of a cinnamon extract, 25 mg of a licorice extract, and 100 mcg of selenium.

Gene-Eden-VIR was launched at the end of 2009, and Novirin in 2014. Gene-Eden-VIR and Novirin have the same formula. The difference between the two products is that Novirin has higher quality, more expensive ingredients.
